Now we\u2019re a style, an inspo, a trend.<\/h2>\n<p><strong>by Colin W. Sargent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>W<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hen Vanity Fair wrote, \u201cIs America Finally Over Its Maine Moment?\u201d in 2013, who knew that the answer ten years later would still be no.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It\u2019s not just the J. Crew catalog shoot cited by the magazine, or the influential Ralph Lauren spread we covered at the Kennebunk River Club [\u201cThe Lobster That Ate Manhattan\u201d] in 2007. It\u2019s more a feeling-driven style. Everywhere we turn, we\u2019re seeing a maniacal love for Maine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not cottagecore. (You\u2019ve seen the ubiquitous shelter catalogs.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not Barbiecore. (The 2022 trend that turned the world pink.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But Mainecore\u2014a branding bonanza. After all, we invented the \u2018she\u2019 shed (we just called it the bait shed). Or is it our glamor ice-fishing shacks? As we write this, there\u2019s a big green light for some of the most authentic and lovable aspects of Maine culture, and it\u2019s getting brighter.
