(Michener\u2019s \u201cBali Ha\u2019i\u201d was later immortalized as a show tune in the musical <i>South Pacific<\/i>, based on his book <i>Tales of the South Pacific<\/i>, which won the 1948 Pulitzer Prize in Fiction.
