We\u2019re not making a point here, we\u2019re just saying&#8230;<\/h3>\n<p>When did we start selling siz\u00adzle and stop selling steak? Just weeks ago, Portland\u2019s sharpest city planners look\u00aded into the Forest City\u2019s fu\u00adture and recorded what\u00a0they saw on paper. The result: the <em>Economic Development Vision &amp; Plan<\/em>. It\u2019s hopeful and well-written, yet it privileges the service and tourism sectors, only making a vague appeal to <em>niche<\/em>ful\u00ad-thinking markets like nanotechnology and biochemicals. Whatever happened to products we can sink our teeth into?
