Our first close encounter in Portland Harbor is a blockbuster. Director Steven Spielberg held court aboard his 280-foot superyacht Seven Seas from 2010 to 2021. Who tagged along? Infamously, if you follow the press, Gwyneth Paltrow.

According to The Guardian, reporting from Rome on July 25, 2011, Spielberg was checking out “the coast of Sardinia in the company of his god-daughter Gwyneth Paltrow and friends.” But the Oscar-winning director “fell foul of watchful Italian beachgoers, a vigilant Coast Guard and Italy’s strict rules on having fun.”
