Only three tables of customers sat in this little Thai restaurant on a recent pleasant July Friday evening. I was alone, but nearby, a group of five chatted noisily, occasionally taking a respite to pick at their food, only to resume their bubbly blabbering moments later. A large man was the most loquacious, but the others in the bunch more than held their own in the marathon some might call a conversation.
