True Story 

When I was nine years old in 1960, I spent most of my summer trying to catch a lobster on a handline baited with clams. After several weeks of frustrating near misses, I finally managed to land the beast. Was it a “short”? All I know is that my mom cooked it and I ate it for dinner.

Speed Dating 

In the 2015 dystopian movie The Lobster, the main character, David (Colin Farrell), loses his wife to another man and is sent to a hotel where he has forty-five days to find another partner. If not? He’ll be turned into an animal of his own choosing, which is­—you guessed it—a lobster.
