(DON, 70, sits in the recliner, writing in a notepad. Suddenly he pops up and goes to the door. He waits. The door opens. CAROLYN, 65-70 enters, startled.)
Carolyn: What are you doing?
Don: How was your day?
Carolyn: What happened? Did something happen?
Don: I tightened the hinges on the cupboard doors.
