We catch up with The Gipsy Kings Featuring Tonino Baliardo in Paris via Zoom, ahead of their August 20 stop at the State Theatre.

Thanks for the great music, Tonino.Can’t wait to see you up here! Is Maine one of the coldest places you’ve ever played?

[A smile.] You understand we’ve been living in a heat wave in Europe.

I know you’ve performed in Montreal and Toronto. Iceland in the early 1990s. That’s a long way from Saint- Tropez.
I’ve played in many cold places. We played in the Waterville Opera House in March. We expect Maine to be warmer in summer.
